Relationship registration - community meeting to discuss Government's proposal
This note was issued by the Victorian Gay and lesbian Rights Lobby on June 1st, 2007.
The Lobby, with the ALSO Foundation, is hosting a Community Meeting to allow for questions, comment and discussion about the Victorian State Government proposal to establish a relationships register for Victoria. Parliamentary Secretary for Justice Jenny Mikakos and other government representatives will be in attendance at the Community Meeting. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and provide feedback.
The Victorian Government has also released an Information Paper, which is attached to this email and will be circulated at the meeting. The Information Paper seeks comments by 12 June 2007 - please respond with your ideas for a relationship register. The Lobby will be preparing a response, and will provide some suggested responses on our website (check out www.vglrl.org.au for updates soon).
