Equal entitlements for same-sex couples - moving the process forward

Australian Democrats leader Senator Lyn Allison this morning chaired a parliamentary hearing into the Same-Sex: Same Entitlements Bill 2007 - a Democrats bill designed to end financial and work-related discrimination against same-sex couples. She was pleased with the "hope and enthusiasm exhibited by committee members and witnesses".The committee, which intends to produce a final report by next Wednesday, consists of Senators Lyn Allison (AD), Andrew Bartlett (AD), Carol Brown (ALP), Barnaby Joyce (NP), Claire Moore (ALP), Ruth Webber (ALP) as well as MPs Warren Entsch (LP) and Mal Washer (LP).
